- An injury to your mouth or jaw
Not sure if it’s an emergency? Call us anyway. We’ll help you work out what to do next.
What to do right now
Knocked-out tooth
Hold it by the crown (not the root), keep it in milk or your cheek, and call us straight away.
Toothache
Rinse with warm water and call us. Do not put painkillers directly on the gum.
Broken tooth
Save any pieces, rinse gently, and call us so we can advise and find you a time.
After hours
Outside our opening hours, call NHS 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk for urgent dental advice. Call 999 or go to A&E if you have swelling that affects your breathing, swallowing or vision, bleeding that will not stop, or a serious injury to your face or mouth.
Costs, before we start
We tell you whether your appointment is NHS or private, and what it costs, before any treatment.
